  1. So sassy! I own this book but haven't read it. I did watch the bbc show, although I couldn't get past thinking of Richard Armitag as Guy of Gisborne, from Robin Hood! Hahaha!

Out of curiosity, what is your favorite book?

  2. Well actually, 'North and South' is one of my favourite books. I had read it before the BBC adaptation and was so excited when I heard that they were making it, as I'd read the book in two days - I just couldn't put it down! I love all of the Jane Austen books, especially 'Persuasion' and 'Pride and Prejudice'. Charlotte Brontë's 'Jane Eyre'too. Also. Miss Read's 'Mrs. Pringle' - it's one of a collection of books set in the beautiful country village of Fairacre. It's very witty and the characters are so well written too, a lovely light read - I've read it every Winter for years now!

  3. Wonderful! I am so getting Mrs. Pringle now. I love Jane Eyre and Wuthering Heights. Pride and Prejudice is so good, it is practically engrained in me from my youth. I love all of your work on this blog!

  4. I watched North and South again last night, as it had been quite a while since I had watched it for the first time. It made me think of your web page! I am staring the book today! Have you ever read Elizabeth Gaskell's biography of Charlotte Brontë? I have a book by Gaskell called "Gothic Tales" but have only read a little so far.

  5. Oh i'm so pleased that you saw 'North and South' again and that you're starting the book too!! I think that I've heard of the biography, but have never read it! I think that it would be a really interesting read, as they were friends. I'd love to try and read some more of Elizabeth Gaskell's work - I remember that I enjoyed watching the adaptation of 'Wives and Daughters' but have yet to read the book! So much literature to look forward to!
